Christian HoxhaAbout me
I am a Year 13 student studying A-level Chemistry, Psychology and Religious Studies. In year 12 I also took AS Biology on top of the previously mentioned ubjects. The journey that got me two A* and one A as predicted grades is one I’d love to share as I help you with my knowledge, tricks, skills and techniques. Having won awards such as the Copper Certificate of The Cambridge Chemistry Challenge, the Bronze Certificate of the Biology Olympiad UKBC and winner of Psychology scholars in an internal school student competition, I intend to help others thrive like I have through tutoring. Tutoring many peers of mine on Chemistry and Psychology has given me a firsthand experience into the commitment and hard work that’s put into teaching. Learning and revising can be a difficult challenge which through my assistance I can help navigate. My passion for research in relation to human behaviour and thought has led me to pursue a Psychology degree at university. I am currently holding two UCAS offers, one from the University of Warwick and one from University of Surrey. Applying through UCAS can seem like a big step for the future, and I believe I should share what I’ve learned to help others with their endeavours. About the sessions Many different people need to be nurtured and helped differently in their own ways. Having some experience already with individuals of differing personalities I have come up with myriad of ways people like to be taught. My sessions involve things such as: coming up with memorable acronyms, witty jokes, a chronological lesson storyline told in the form of a story, discussing the lesson as if it is a real life scenario, and many more simple yet effective ways of thinking- all done to ensure that the knowledge is engraved into your long term memory as the most memorable things are the ones you enjoy- so treating lessons as fun increases recall. I draw from elements of the world we live in and link it to the lessons as what we learn is all around us, but people fail to recognise that, which is why sometimes they see learning as pointless. I will help show you the amazing world of knowledge through the every day life and how useful it can be. Building knowledge will then lead to using techniques on how to apply the knowledge and through contestant practice with me a sense of confidence will flow through my tutees. I am always eager to answer questions as the questions you ask show that you are using the knowledge you have and trying to make logical links. My tutoring sessions run online. If a tutee happens to be close to my area, in a walking distance away from me, and they would prefer a face-to-face session I would also consider such offers. I am only able to work with KS4 and KS5 students, those in Year 10, 11, 12 and 13.
